Why do brits think they matter a lot in america?

Abe, the Irish Sea is far too narrow for people like you. We Brits should maybe realize that there are people in your neighborhood who don't like us. We should then ask why the hell we let so many of you over here as though you had a special relationship with us. As for Americans such as the thread starter I am glad of his ignorance. He will not want to visit our cherished shores.
