Conned into buying an old computer?

Take it back to where you bought it with the receipt. If you purchased an "unopened, new" item, it should be unopened and new. It is possible the "guy" did an initial setup for you, but if there are programs created a day before purchase, I'd take it back or get a refund of at least 10% if not more.
