Is it weird to know how to fight?

is it weird if a guy know kung foo or something. it seems kinda nerdy but i am going to kick the **** out of this guy whos been screwing with me for too long and i need to know if it would be better to kick his *** swiftly with karate and such or do a ''street fight?''
