Is the USA ready for Mr. Barak Obama as president?

I thought that Hillary Clinton was going to be the Democratic Party candidate and not Mr. Obama. Now I see a possibility that he may be the candidate. Now, is USA ready for this man? While, ironically, I may agree with him in some points, especially in foreign relationship if not all, I fear USA is not ready for him. The special interest groups, the Pentagon and the State Department, and the media also, will never accept him as president and will try to undo, or "sabotage"? his presidency. That is my fear. USA is still too militaristic, aggressive, narrowminded and jingoistic to accept as president somebody with a different agenda. Feedback, please.
