Information on Detroit suburbs?

The wealth and racial disparity between Detroit and some of it's suburbs can be traced to the racism and "white flight" that happened after the '68 riot. The exodus of white people from Detroit to the suburbs has actually been going on for over 50 years, but the riot accelerated it. I'm not sure how cities are measured as far as being "poor" goes. I do know that even working people in Detroit make a lot more money that those in some other cities.
